Research Groups
Illinois Relativity Group -
The Illinois Relativity Group consists of a vibrant group of graduate students and postdocs
working in theoretical astrophysics and general relativity, led by Stuart Shapiro.
Recent work includes general relativistic MHD calculations with black hole
excision, and simulations of black hole-neutron star binaries.Cosmology Group - The Cosmology Group consists of a diverse group of professors, postdocs, and graduate students. Together they tackle problems in theoretical and experimental cosmology. Current research topics include: properties of clusters, Big Bang nucleosynthesis, extragalactic astronomy, dark matter, cosmic microwave background, the early universe, structure formation, and galaxy interactions and evolution.
Preprints - Preprints by members of the the Center for Theoretical Astrophysics.
