Computers Available for Use by Students

All graduate students in Physics have accounts on the Engineering WorkStations.  If you've forgotten you username or password there I suggest you go to the Digital Computing Laboratory off Springfield avenue and across the street from Granger Library to find out what they are.  These machines will be available to the students for the use of compiling, developing, and running code in this class.

In general, only the IBM machines have Fortran 90.   Thus I suggest that these be the machines you use.  If you wish to use C++ or Fortran 77 then you can use any of the machines ( HP's, SUN's, and IBM's ).  However, programs may not run universally on all machines, and the user may obtain different results.  Thus, the codes will be in principle will be developed on the IBM's and that is where they will be assured to run properly.
