Linear Algebra Routines Freely Available
-
Net Lib
A repository of various codes you can search through, including benchmarks
for different programming languages. The greatest asset is a search
engine which you can use to quickly find what your interested in.
-
GAMS
Short for a Guide to Available Mathmatical Software. This site
is supported by Nist and is a collection of routines similar to Net Lib.
Also provides a useful Search engine.
-
Numerical Recipes in FORTRAN
On line reference to the ever popular book for scientific computing.
However, if you're interested in high performance I suggest using the 2
sites above. These routines are not the most efficient, however they
do allow one to learn the methods used in a straight forward manner.

Latex Guides
The definitive guide for a beginner is the book entitled Latex
Notes : Practical Tips for Preparing Technical Documents.
This book has been very useful to myself and others in our group.
It doesn't address some of the specifics however, but it does cover the
basics and more in good detail.
