Methodology: 
Utilizes commercially available silicon wafer material in a new highly catalyzed electrochemical etching procedure to produce fluorescent silicon nanoparticles (FSP), of great interest for biomedical, optoelectronic and low power electronics applications. The procedure is scalable to commercial applications, making the U.S. the premier global supplier for nano-sized (one billionth of a meter) silicon material for these critical technologies.
